Magic between battles

Moving an object with Psynergy makes magic part of travel rather than something reserved for battles. Towns and caves ask you to inspect the surroundings for the next useful application, giving exploration a rhythm beyond searching containers. Djinn complicate the battle system in a productive way: distributing them changes classes and available abilities, and using them can alter a character’s immediate role. There is plenty of conversation between these discoveries. The lengthy opening is a commitment, but the combination of route puzzles and adjustable party roles gives the journey a clear identity.

Building a party

Experiment with Djinn assignments and check the resulting abilities before a major battle. When a room seems impassable, consider the Psynergy commands you already have. Keep a separate save before trying a large change to the party.

Camelot’s original Japanese game arrived in August 2001. Its Djinn system joins creature collection to class changes and summons, while Psynergy works both inside and outside combat. Golden Sun: The Lost Age is a separate sequel; this entry and its progress record cover the first cartridge.

Why we chose it for Game Boy Advance
