Try another weapon
Combine two weapons, throw an enemy into another, and meet a boss that rearranges itself halfway through the fight. Gunstar Heroes keeps changing the problem while giving you plenty of ways to answer it. Characters tumble and machines flex with a physicality that makes even a failed attempt enjoyable to watch. Choosing a different weapon pair can change the next attempt considerably.
The first run can be overwhelming. Give yourself a few attempts to recognise what is happening, then experiment with weapon pairs. A second player adds useful firepower and some inevitable confusion; the solo game is just as worth learning.
Treasure on the Mega Drive
Treasure’s 1993 Mega Drive game supports ten shot combinations and simultaneous two-player play. It earns its place among the hardware showcases through the number of animated parts it puts to work in an encounter. Those effects do something useful: a moving machine presents a different target, and a thrown body becomes a weapon.
Why we chose it for Mega Drive
Weapon combinations keep familiar encounters flexible, while Treasure continually finds something new for the next boss to do.
