Choose before the attack resolves
The visible lightsabers can make combat look more immediate than its underlying rules. Pausing to choose powers and targets is often more useful than watching attacks resolve. Conversations carry much of the journey: companions bring competing motives into places that initially seem straightforward. Some moral choices are blunt, but the story makes the identity you have been constructing worth reconsidering.
Read the combat feedback when an attack keeps missing, and pause to coordinate the party. Talk to companions between destinations; rushing directly to objectives loses much of the character writing.
A distant Star Wars past
BioWare’s catalogue dates the original release to July 2003. Setting the story thousands of years before the films leaves room for a party and conflict that do not depend on retelling their plot.
