Spend the stock

Changing shot colour changes how you cover the screen. Your accompanying unit offers some protection, and spending stored weapons produces a stronger attack when the ordinary shot cannot clear enough space. The decision is immediate: preserve what you have collected or use it to keep a promising run alive.

Use the speed switch deliberately and practise spending weapon stock. Saving every resource until the end of a life wastes its defensive value. Try a timed challenge when you want a compact session with a clear result to improve.

A short run with a measurable result

Soldier Blade gives Hudson’s score-focused shooting tradition a place alongside the PC Engine’s arcade conversions. Its timed challenge modes make repeated attempts easy to compare. A score that improves over several short sessions can be a more useful goal here than completing the whole campaign.

Why we chose it for PC Engine

Weapon management adds decisions to the shooting, and timed challenges make room for short sessions.
