A second chance in mid-air
The hover nozzle makes a missed landing feel recoverable: a brief burst can turn panic into a careful adjustment. Spraying, sliding and wall jumps give the island’s plazas and roofs several useful heights. Stages without the pack expose how demanding the underlying movement can be. The blue-coin hunt is less consistent, asking for patient searches where the main episodes usually offer a clearer task.
Learning the water pack
Practise aiming water while standing still, then moving and hovering. Leave the complete blue-coin collection for a later pass if it interrupts the pleasure of learning a new area.
Sunshine’s 2002 GameCube adventure gives Mario a persistent piece of equipment. Its island setting joins the locations visually, while the changing nozzle abilities alter familiar platforming distances.
Why we chose it for GameCube
