Keep the formation together
A tank’s position matters beyond the target it can attack this turn. Nearby allies can support it, while encirclement makes an isolated unit vulnerable. Factories give damaged units somewhere to recover and make infantry useful for more than absorbing fire. Advancing too quickly can dismantle the formation that made an attack possible.
Read the support and encirclement rules before judging an apparently uneven fight. Slow down around factories and consider which enemy positions would leave your army exposed after moving. This is a useful change of pace after a shooter.
The HuCard as a tactical map
Released as Nectaris in Japan in 1989 and Military Madness in North America in 1990, this HuCard brings deliberate tactical play into a selection dominated by direct action. Its map rules deserve a place in the platform’s history alongside the moving sprites that advertised its power.
Why we chose it for PC Engine
Support and encirclement turn simple-looking moves into connected decisions. It broadens the collection beyond reflex tests.
